🆕 0.8 New Lessons Added! Exclusive to Simply Cyber Academy

Transcript

Hey, it's Steve here and I'm back six months after launching this course, very excited to add some new lessons. And the biggest reason I'm doing this is I just put a new open source project out on GitHub called the Simply Cyber CSF Profile Assessment Database.

So this thing is a React interface to a database, basically an app you can install locally and access through a browser, or you can use the Excel spreadsheet that's integrated with it. I developed it using concepts and tools in this course and just kind of taking it to the next level.

And doing CSF Profile Assessments myself out in the wild and also talking to students about applying A/CCRP concepts out into the field as consultants, I thought, you know, so far in the course, I show you the skills you need and the basic concepts, but it would be cool to have more of a plug and play spreadsheet than a build it yourself. So I'm adding that.

And also for your audit work papers to have this GRC tool like experience in kind of the expensive platforms out there in a DIY open source GitHub project that is all killer, no filler, just fundamentals, getting back to basics for good GRC work. So anyways, that's why I'm back and that's why I'm adding more lessons.

And while I'm here, you know, why not take this opportunity to answer common questions that come in from students? How do I get on the Discord server? New lesson about that. Where do I get the textbook? You know, I've given you that information in text, but you know, why not make it even more accessible in a quick video format?

Another common question is, what is the Simply Cyber discount code for examventures.acclay.com? The answer is SIMPLYCYBER10 for all of the exams. Another one is what bullet points should I put on my resume after finishing A/CCRP? I've added an easy to find lesson about that. You can copy and paste right under your resume.

I also want to tell you about my free mini course that just launched in Simply Cyber Academy. It hit a thousand students very quickly. It's called Break into GRC Mindset, Methods and Skills. And I think it's a great companion to this A/CCRP course that you're in right now.

Also, I want to talk about the exam and your readiness for it based on what I've learned having had now six months of students pursuing it. So it's going to be harder than A/CCRF, which as you know, is no joke. You cleared it to get here.

One thing that stands out to me, working with students who passed on their initial attempt or didn't, is the importance of doing all the practice of questions before you sit the exam. So please be sure to do that. And also do not hesitate to ask me in Discord any questions about the course material.

Here's a recent successful person that cleared the exam in Reno saying that this exam is not easy. So I'm quite proud to have performed well. And it was based on even previous knowledge, not in the textbook, to explain the foundation and the CR-MAP method.

If you were to ask Accolade directly for their advice on how to pass A/CCRP, they say, you know, in addition to reading the textbook, taking the course, it's to read news stories like we do all the time in the Simply Cyber Daily Threat Briefing, understand what's going on and how to apply these course concepts to those real-world case studies. And that's why there's case studies baked into this course.

It's also why another reason on theme with the CSF Profile Assessment Database, which you can apply to real and fictional case studies to understand how to be a good cyber resilience practitioner. And then speaking of Accolade, a final reason to do more videos is that this course is now also sold on accolade.com. They're awesome, but they don't have this exclusive content at the back of the course here in Simply Cyber Academy.

So that's it for announcements. Again, I'm excited to be back. Thanks for being here. I hope you find even more value. Let's get after it.
