π₯ 0.5 What to Expect on Exam Day and How to CRUSH It
Transcript
Welcome back.
Just like we did in the prior CTRF course, let's talk about what to expect on exam day and how to crush it with your thorough preparation. The CCRP exam is 40 case study questions that are about a half a page or full page long with multiple-choice answers that must be completed in two hours.
Case studies are a bit farther along in Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives, getting into levels three to five. So, in CCRF, we talked about how it was levels one and twoβit's about remembering and understanding. Now we're in three to five in terms of the thing called Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives. Itβs about applying, analyzing, and evaluating. Here is a business problem: What's the best answer to solve it? Okay, a business is going through somethingβwhat do they do?
As noted in the previous lesson, you need about a 73 to 75 percent to pass. We also mentioned that it's proctored online through the Certiverse platform from the comfort of your home or office. You do not go to an in-person testing center. Also, it's a closed-book exam. You're not allowed to use notes or study materials as you write it from the comfort of your home. A Certiverse online proctor will be watching, both your screen and your camera.
The most important thing to remember when taking the exam is that there are no trick questions on test day. Every question is precisely worded to match the material that you studied in the course. As touched on, it's been meticulously prepared through that robust ISO process of having exam writers and Accolade being independent, working with the Accolade Advisory Council and other people, doing a job task analysis and calibrating the questions, working with the Certiverse people.
There's only one right answer, and a lot of care has gone into the course. And I think if you've done my practice exams and are scoring in the 80% range, you're ready for exam day, with Certiverse. During an exam, read each question multiple times to ensure you understand exactly what is being asked and only answer that question. Any time you see the words "always" or "never," it's a clue that it's the wrong answer. Howβs in life when you're applying the CSF? Rarely is something "always" or "never" applied in a given situation.
Also, as you read the questions and answers, be on the lookout for distractors and red herrings. Typically, there's at least one of these that is trying to distract you, and if you can eliminate it, it increases your odds of success in narrowing down to the correct answer. For the Certified Cyber Resilience Practitioner CERT, you apply your knowledge that is covered in this course, and be careful when trying to draw in other things.
It's scoped very specifically through a job task analysis and the rigorous ISO process that Accolade follows with the exam writers and the Accolade Advisory Council and Certiverse to produce and calibrate these questions that are very tailored to the Accolade content. Although it's a case study, there are no fill-in-the-blank or essay-style questions. It's all about identifying the right answer.
